Create file shortcuts on Kindle Fire 8?

[Android Central Question]

I am trying to figure out how to create a file shortcut on the homescreen of my Kindle Fire 8 (6th Gen). I use ES File Explorer and even though I can copy/paste, I can't paste to desktop and can't find a folder where KF8 stores the desktop apps, if it does at all?

Welcome to Android Central! Try using Total Commander, which can do this on an Android device (not sure about Kindles, though), and which is also available on the Amazon Appstore. It's free and ad-free.
