I know that BBM is always on, but is there a way to remove the BBM Connected notification card or the same from the lock screen? Using Lollipop 5.1 on LG G4

I don't think there is a way to do that. Have you checked with the BBM support page for Android?

Yep... go into your BBM settings and then disable the "BBM Connected Icon". It warns you that you may not get all bbm messages if device memory is running low. But I can live with that.
