LTE and 4G

I just got ATT LTE last night and it's super fast but I noticed today that when I receive a call it switches back to regular 4G for the call then when I hang up it goes back to 4G LTE does anyone know why or if it's normal I never saw my Verizon phone do that

Voice doesn't use LTE so it has to switch networks. Sometime in the future we'll see Voice over LTE.

If you are using app like Viber or Skype which will use your current data connection, other wise making voice calls on your phone you get switched to the gsm side of the phone.
