Android-Sync software stopped working

I have been using Android-Sync (Android-Sync | Sync Android with Outlook via USB) for just over a year without problems, however, just recently it stopped downloading all contacts from Outlook to my Samsung Galaxy Siii (S3). I've contacted the developer multiple times over the last 2 weeks, but so far not a single response. I've now decided to go with another sync program called Akrutosync (Automatically Sync Outlook Across All Devices | AkrutoSync). It doesn't have as many options, but more importantly it does a complete transfer of all contacts from Outlook to the phone. It works over LAN and internet whereas Android-Sync works with USB only. I'd be very interested to hear if others have experienced a similar problem and if a solution was found.
