Agreed, it certainly looks bad. Hopefully that petition starts something... I see we're only 11 sigs away, although I don't really get what happens after 1000. Is it like a state trying to secede where 1000 votes mysteriously gets their attention? lol

I am not sure if it would help us but... atleast we made an attempt to reach out to google.

Just saw this on xda-developers. I don't think it's been posted on this thread yet:

EDIT: This has not been confirmed yet, so take this with a grain of salt for now. Could be a simple troll for all I know.

EDIT 2: Yep, apparently just a fake post. Sorry. I'm on the gullible train today.

This is Jonathan, from Google Play Suport Team.

First, let me start off by extending my deepest sympathy to all the people that ordered their Nexus 4 device on nov. the 13th and still have not received it yet. We at Google Play value your business and are doing all we can to fulfill orders as soon as humanly possible.

Unfortunately, as many of you know by now, the demand for the Nexus 4 device was so overwhelming, that our internal servers processesing the orders crashed, and we had to resort to a secondary processor for said orders. This caused a multitude of problems, including but not limited to duplicate or triplicate orders, missing orders and the such. We understand that you have been frustrated by the lack of information, but again, let me assure you that we are getting everything in order, so that we can process the rest of the orders in a timely fashion. As mentioned in a prior email sent to customers, your shipping fee wil be fully refunded, and we are looking into offering something extra to our affected customers, such as Play Store credit or a free accesory for your Nexus device.

To answer some of the most common questions, if youre seeing a date change in your Play Store orders screen, that means that your order has been revised by our team, and has already passed final verification. You can expect to receive shipment confirmation emails in the very short term (within 48 hours). We do have stock on hand, and will be working troughout the week with our partners to fulfill as many orders as we can.

We will issue a formal statement in the coming hours, so please stay tuned.

Sincerly,

Thomas J,
Google Play Support Team

Another CSR call bites the dust. He said "I just actually got some news..." which was that another shipment is going out tonight. He said my particular order is labeled as "sent for shipping" and he said there are others like me. He said expect something tonight/tomorrow. It's the same old story but I had never been told this specifically about my order so I'm hopeful. My order went through at 10:44 central time and I've had all the date changes but none of the backorder or shipping emails, just a confirmation after I ordered it. Hoping this isn't just another BS answer from the customer service guys but he actually did seem apologetic and like he was doing research as we were on the phone so I'm going to stay hopeful. Hope everyone else can too.

They probably have a dart board full of possible responses to the swarm of calls. Yours must have hit bulls-eye!

Has anyone that called CSR got a meaningful response after the call has ended? If not I would just say its BS they are spewing to try to appease people.

Exactly. That's what's key. They can give you a whole load of BS on the phone and can claim ignorance when it doesn't come to fruition. When it's documented via email, that's another story....

A light year is a unit of distance, not a unit of time.

Excuse me bro... i very well know that... i am an electrical engineer and not an other illiterate... i meant that the package is 2 light years away from us ... and it will take ages to reach our home...maybe that's the reason google cant provide any shipping info.

Hey, I am still waiting for the two(!) specialists supposedly working my case to get back to me with news.

Any news at all...

Make a note of your order numbers somewhere in your house for your son/daughter to look up and follow up after 25 years... maybe they will have tracking info by then...

--- HOT OFF THE PRESSES --

I just spoke with CS again. She told me in no uncertain terms that the word has come down from above that EVERYONE who ordered Nexus phones on the 13th will be receiving them TOMORROW, November 20th.

She insisted that this was accurate information.

She went on to say that it may take a few days for billing to catch up but the devices would definitely arrive tomorrow. This may go along with some earlier (supposed) CS comments indicating that the problems were on the billing end of the system.

That's odd, because I finally gave in and called Google support. I'm one of those "ordered first thing, no backorder email, no date change" types. After I was put on hold for a few minutes I was told that I am indeed backordered, and will receive my device within three weeks. Still no email from them about this, and wallet still says pending with 11/15 delivery.
