My 27th order has just shipped, it was in the 2-3 slot.
My 13th oder is still totally in limbo and still in pending.
I figured the 13th orders were seriously hosed and that is why I ordered on the 27th, what a freakin stressful mess this phone has been to order.
Google there is no excuse for this!!!

Dude, congrats! I ordered on the 27th, too, but stupidly cancelled it when I got the email that my 13th order was shipping that week. When the card declined debacle started, I reordered a phone on the 30th (5-6 week backorder), and I bet that one will come sooner than the 13th order.

Thanks but I am still very upset about this whole mess, had I known it would be been this bad an experience to order from google play I would have never ordered it in the first place.
All the wasted hours on the phone with CSRs and so called supervisors with nothing to show for it is ridiculously insane!
I might sell this anyways and go with the unlocked iphone since google has ruined android for me.

Google's response to my BBB claim:

The Play Store experienced incredibly high demand for the Nexus 4 and we sold out of our stock quickly. If you received the "Nexus 4 is back" email, we expect that your device will ship by the end of the week. We apologize for any inconvenience.

If you have any further concerns, you can reach out to Play store support at 1-855-836-3987.

I'm thinking about doing this, myself. But I'll wait until the 7th to do so. According to the backorder email on 11/15, my order would be shipped within 3 weeks, which falls on the 6th. So I'll give them the next 2 days to see if they follow-through on this, or at least give me a legimate email response as to the issues going on.

How is that a reply to the BBB claim? Do they consider this answer valid? They did no research, nothing, but they say "wait longer"... WOW!

How do we file a BBB claim? I am sorry, but this is the first time i am hearing about it

Oh this seems like a nice forum....
So do we go ahead and file a complaint with them? Though i dont see that the response I get would be very different from what the XDA person got

I have a feeling that google might atleast start taking note of the situation if we all do

I plan to, but I'm going to wait until 12/7 after the 3-week window I was given passes. Then I'll have even more support to actually complain. Google did after all notify me on the 15th that phones were backordered and that "it is expected to ship within three weeks." Granted, this is not a guarantee, but ... what we do have as support is that others who have purchased a phone after we did are already receiving their phones.

At least it documents our pain and suffering and maybe other parts of google with figure out the play division is a huge debacle.

The XDA thread is really depressing. All these people are getting shipping notifications and here we are sitting around with absolutely no information whatsoever...

I called Google again (i have been doing this every 2 days.) this time round the lady actually dug out all the emails and phone calls I made and confirmed that I did called/question them about the status and she advice me to cancel it LOL

Hey guys, I actually called Google again because I was checking what's the return policy like (i'm thinking of ordering a second phone).

This time, the CSR knows what is going on (He actually knows that people are stuck like me unlike the other CSR i had been talking to who have not a single clue). Well he promised me knows the shipping specialist (his friend or some sort) and will push out an order for me by tomorrow. Like some sort of personal favor. I don't know whether he is lying by trying to prevent me ordering a second phone or making me not pissed off but he do know the term Limbo so i guess there is some hope here.

I am still buying the 2nd Nexus 4 anyways. No harm.

I agree, they have promised to watch my order to make sure my order finally goes through weeks ago and it's still pending.

My 27th will be here tomorrow according to tracking but why couldn't this have happened for our 13th orders?

Hahaha that's why I still ordered another Nexus 4 today. Especially since he didn't leave his name or send me an email to get back to. I forgot his name, aaron or something like that.
