Sim Card Question

I previously had Straight Talk with an AT&T sim card. I dropped Straight Talk and switched to TMobile. Can I give my old Straight Talk sim to a friend so he can activate it and try out Straight Talk or will he need to buy a new Sim Card from them?

If you don't mind it being technically the same account, he should be able to top off with a prepaid card, reactivate with a new number and go merrily on his way.
