It did, just not officially. I use LTE on my N4 everyday. The problem was that it wasn't certified by the FCC for LTE. It also came out the better part of a year ago. The fact that the new N7 includes huge LTE support bodes well for the next Nexus phone.

I have always heard that there were licenses involved in LTE as well as CDMA. When I heard that Google had completed it's acquisition of Motorola the first thing I thought was that this might take care of the licenses issue. After all Moto seems to be able to make phones with LTE even on Verizon. So I am hoping that the next Nexus phone has LTE. It may not have CDMA so Verizon may be out but at least it may have LTE and if so I will move from Verizon to AT&T.
