3.1 update

I see that there is a new updated Logitech Revue coming out shipping with 3.1. When will current owners of the Revue get this update?

Re: 3.1 update

Here is the source:
http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/27/logitech-revue-on-sale-promising-new-and-improved-google-tv-with/

Per a Logitech Support Specialist... (comment on that page).

These boxes are just the regular boxes you have now and DO NOT have the 3.1 android update on them. These boxes are not suppose to be released onto store floors until the update is officially released for everyone. If a store is selling these boxes (it is just an added sticker on the box. Nothing else is different) they have released these boxes prematurely.

Yep, they have the first Google TV on it. After the update is released, part of the setup process will update them to Google TV 2.0. They are not preinstalled with it. As the last poster pointed out, Logitech has not released it yet, and the retailers should not be using those boxes yet.

If you haven't already seen the new GoogleTV site you can check it out here, Google TV - Overview

So far the main points seem to be:
  • They've announced search integration into some of the apps like HBO GO.
  • Update includes the Market but only about 50 apps will be available to start.
  • The new Picture in a Picture browsing lets you surf the web while watching TV.
  • Massive overhaul to the YouTube app, making it feel more as a channel to on your TV then an app.

What else am I missing?

Hope they release some basic Google aps like Gmail and calendar.

Agreed! Their web site is sluggish to go thru so native apps would be great. However if the leaked versions didn't already have the apps, I'm guessing the odds are low of having them. :(

I heard the news about the Sony's getting next week right after telling the woman she could go ahead and buy the 40" we have been looking at for the last week... Now the old 32" with the review is going in the bed room and the new 40" will be set up and updated as soon as i get home next week!! Have I got timing or what?
