For the past nine months, I’ve been using the Huawei Honor 8 (Sapphire Blue, 32GB) with a matte plastic screen protector and a silicone case on the T-Mobile and MintSIM networks as my daily driver. After a brief (and rather alarming) bout with some snow and water in January, I thought the Honor 8 was done for, but after some percussive maintenance (of all things!), I was able to continue using it. It has been a rather hardy phone; surviving falls, drops, and dunks in water (even without an IP rating of any sort), and I am quite fond of its resilience.
However, all good things must come to an end, and no industry better exemplifies this than the smartphone industry. After a particularly hard drop onto concrete from about 5 feet in the air, my Honor 8 landed (in a case) on a corner, and cracked along the top bezel. The crack did not, however, go over any important components such as the camera or proximity sensor, nor did it encroach onto the screen. Thankfully, the phone is still very functional, and the damage was simply aesthetic.
What’s my plan now? Well, because the damage is just aesthetic, I’ll simply fix the aesthetics. I’ve ordered a tempered glass screen protector that has coloring along the bezels, so the crack will be covered up (and yes, I know, I should have been using a tempered glass screen protector from the start, but the matte looked so nice, especially for reading e-books). I plan to continue using the Honor 8 for at least another school year, however, that decision will heavily depend on how it fares for the rest of the summer. I may buy a battery case, as the battery is beginning to show signs of usage. However, all in all, the Honor 8 has held up very well in terms of performance, sturdiness, and usability, and I am looking forward to continuing using it for a long time.
How's your Honor 8 holding up? Let me know in the comment below!

P.S. - I'm out of school, so I have more time to dedicate to the forums, now! As always, feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
