Better way to Sync the Eris than the HTC Sync?

I tried using the HTC Sync software and it then disabled PDANet - which is how I get my Internet connection. I had to uninstall it so I could get back on the Internet. I want and need to be able to sync my Eris to my PC. But I also need my internet connection.

Any ideas????
