MKV file problems with Rockplayer

I'm running CM7 RC-1 and am having problems playing certain .mkv files with Rockplayer. One file only plays 5 seconds and the other one is extremely sluggish. Is it simply hardware limitations or is it the file?

Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. - Both files are ~2GB and I'm having the same issues with VLC player.

try converting it to a different file structure, ive heard avi works best. but your evo should play 720p movies just fine as long as the fps(29-30 is max) isnt too high it should play.
if your talking your having trouble with vlc on your pc then its definitely a bad file vlc plays pretty much anything re=encode to avi
