HTC Merge stuck in fastboot/hboot

Hello, i am not brilliant with technology but i am also not completely oblivious. I had an issue with my HTC Merge not turning fully on, so i searched for a solution and that led me to going to the fastboot or hboot menus, and now my phone is stuck there. every time i chose an option, like factory reset, it takes me back to the same menu... after i did research i keep hearing about S-on and ROMS and all this talk i don't understand, can somebody please help me out i would like to use this phone again because my current phone is a disaster to the smartphone world.

I am having this issue as well and was wondering if unlocking the bootloader would help me be able to do a recovery or factory restore? Only had phone for 2 months, someone please help!

I am having the identical issue, hard to believe that there is no one out there that can help us more electronically challenged folks.
