How to Update HTC M8 AT&T set

HI everyone,

I bought a used HTC M8 from someone in Singapore. Apparently, it is an AT&T set. Now I have an issue to update the phone to the latest version of the software.Currently the phone is running with 5.0.1 Android version. When try to update , a message popping up telling it is using a modified version of software and asking me to contact the provider.

I'm in Malaysia and what should i do to update the phone to the latest software.

The phone may have been rooted. You should be able to flash the stock ROM on the phone. Can you show a screenshot of the software information?

Ok. You should be able to use a Windows machine to reflash the most updated firmware. However, I have little experience with using a phone from one country in another. If you flash the AT&T version of the ROM, it may not work where you are. That may be the reason for the custom firmware.

haha...what should i do now...shall i give it a try...what would be the worse case scenario if something go wrong...TQ
