Voice dialing opens google search/browser

Why when I say OK google and then "call this person", it opens a search page, OR sometimes, it will open a window that asks me to select a contact.... and then doesn't dial it?

Why launch a search or have me select a contact manually???

Could be a glitch in your software. Have you tried updating your phone? Sometimes the voice dial on my phone acts weird and doesn't do what I ask. Other times it does it right away and is quite accurate. Good luck!

Go into google now and scroll to the bottom. Hit the three dot menu button and click on settings. Click on phone search and make sure all the options are checked.

Ok, thanks. In fact I unchecked them all except contacts. It still is clonky. I'm on my 3rd Android phone, and none of them had good voice dialing. It seems only BlackBerry had that down to a science. Really useful when driving; was hoping to get that back, seems not.
