Why does my 8 Gb internal storage only show 4 Gb?

why my 8 Gb internal storage only show 4 Gb?

im using LG G3 Stylus and just updated my android to lollipop. my internal storage suppose to be 8Gb but only show 4Gb. also i have 3.2Gb misc files. how i can get the full 8Gb drive and erase the Misc Files. thank you

Lg is notorious for lack of internal storage. I'm not sure, but I believe that the 8gigs is partitioned. Half for the operating system, half for apps, files, etc.

1. You might not be reading the total size right (happened to me on my nexus 5)
2. I wouldn't worry at I have the 32gb nexus 5 and only 26gb to use.
