Just keeps doing that....do I need to flash a sound update or something? a kernal?

hrmph I guess I will keep trying 16c...I do full wipe including boot then install 16c then gapps reboot and it just hangs at the cm9 boot screen...I couildnt get any of the previous 16 versions to boot up either....I am gonna try a different recovery...I am not new to this been flashing since thunderrom (I think thats what it was called) been a while anyways just weird now this version wont flash...never had this problem before

Thanks for that, I just did the same thing, got the same errors.

It is the new audio fix it seems. I get the same hang forever at boot animation. There must be some of us with phones with different hardware that are getting this. Looks like it is back in the hands of the devs, lgics team, or thekraven. Meanwhile, alpha 15f runs for me, or play with the quattrimus nightly.

@pkt_lnt, were't you getting that 06-01-1980 error when making a nandroid earlier in COT 1.1/2? im wondering why the ROM is pulling 1980 as the system date....that makes no sense.

is there some sort of catch in the recovery that wont flash a file it thinks is that old?

Yes, it was the nandroid directory naming, but I think it is was hardware glitch. Read the last page if this link is funny.

Version 16c flash fine, with no errors, it displays the splash CM9 logo, then the boot animation starts and hangs. An adb shell give the errors above.

right, im just saying, if you read the errors posted above, the system is trying to set the volume on boot on a device that is showing a date of 06-02-1980 or whatever. if its happening on more then one device, its not a localized issue

Reporting:

- Audio fix for alpha16 speakerphone (low volume issue) during calls works like a charm
- MMS works on alpha16
- Dedicated ringtones does not work (dedicated = specific contact - specific ringtone (different from default ringtone))

I'm about to flash alpha16c, I'll report back in a few minutes.

Thanks for keeping our little phones alive and up-to-date :D

BTW: my device is a VM670 with Cannibal 1.2 recovery.

I flashed alpha16c with no problems, I did the following on cannibal 1.2:

Main screen
-Wipe data/factory reset
-Wipe cache partition
-Wipe system, data, cache

Mounts and storage
-format boot, system, data, cache, sd-ext

Advanced
-Wipe Dalvik Cache

Then I used Leslie Ann's prep for new rom wiper (wipes 3 times)

Now flash alpha16c, when done, flash gapps and reboot system now.

If you are on Virgin Mobile flash the fix after the first boot.

Hope it helps.

BTW : Alpha16c: loud speaker working like a charm, everything else works as well (BT, WiFi, etc)

Governor interactiveX min:480 max:600 (if I go lower than 480 I get reboots)

Ah HA! Good catch! I missed that in the logcat here and the one I had on my screen. Evidence, good stuff. I have tried three times to duplicate that in COT with no success. I always have my phone plugged in when doing operations in recovery.

edit posted about this in COT to see if Drew has ideas

@tdm got the fix too to test on quattrimus, has some problems, but he has ideas on mods to make it work.

Thekraven said you do not need the audio fix on 16c.

Looks like it's missing the zipalign tool in the /system/xbin/ directory. You probably can delete the 95zipalign script in system/etc/init.d/ and it will fix that error.

Not too sure why the audio files work for some and not others. tdm said it was probably a kernel header issue and i'll look into it.

can we take the zip align tool from a previous alpha and put it in /system/xbin to see if it works?
