Turn off entirely? As in including wifi and foreground use? No. At least not without rooting your phone. The best you can do is turn off background mobile data use on an app.

That's a known problem with the earphones, claim warranty and they would replace your earphones.

Try Android/data/com.google.android.music directory. There are 2 folders there cache and files, maybe it's in the cache folder, but the file name won't make sense.

What backup did you use? Check your Google drive and Samsung cloud.

I removed both wire mesh on both ears now they have same volume, although it became more sibilant.

I believe that is just to help keep dirt out and also help reduce sibilance. Has no effect on bass.
