You can easily root so far you have the stock boot.img for your phone. You can get the boot.img from the firmware for your build number or by dumping. Armed with boot.img, you can root using Magisk

rebooting usually fixes this. lets know if it still persists

just open the phone storage > select the file(s) > long press and select copy > go to SD card > paste > connect phone to PC via usb > mount storage from phone > sd pops up on PC > voila

hard reset wont help. you'll need to flash the stock ROM. fixed such issues several times on Tecno Android phones
