Slow, busy icon when returning to app drawer

My moto G is really getting slow now and the busy circle icon pops up for a few seconds when returning to the app drawer from an app. I've even removed Facebook and yahoo mail in the hope it will improve performance but to no avail. The only thing I can think that could cause lag is WhatsApp, I don't really have many apps loaded.

Have tried clean master but hasn't improved either.

Any suggestions?

Try to wipe the cache partition. You can find the instruction in the forums or watch this video. Safe and easy.
