Just read an article on Venturebeat claiming that the top end Moto X 2016 will have a 5.5" Quad HD screen but only a 2600mah battery! Unless they've pulled off some sort of amazing optimisation, this phone is going to need charging by lunchtime. Apparently the phone is mega thin which is why the battery is so small. Don't know about you but I'd rather have a thicker phone that will last at least a day rather than a thin one that will die within hours. Cant see me buying this phone now if this is true

I can't think of any obvious reason that they shouldn't make a Vector Thin and a Vector Thick to give customers a choice. Like you, I'd choose the Thick....though I doubt that they'd call it that.

My hope (nothing more than that) is that all the "amps" have some sort of battery augmentation. Perhaps the standard ones have 1000mah and the dedicated battery amp has 2000mah. Just speculating.

One of the rumored Amps is an extended battery pack.

That's not quite so bad if that's the case. But even so, it's kinda lame to release a phone with a battery that's almost certainly going to be too small, and then expect people to buy an extra module separately to actually have a phone that will get them through the day.

Even with an extended battery mod it'll just be weird the moto x was famous for its style and the backs you can choose from. Hints the name style. So unless these mods are stylish and not huge and bulky I'll deal with it.
