So my 2016 Moto Z Force decided to die on me (out of warranty of course) so I've been using my Moto X Pure since Tuesday. I still love its ergonomics, lovely screen, and good overall performance. However, the battery is so painfully bad, especially the screen but even standby drain as well and it heats up like a furnace with moderate use. The camera also doesn't compare with the Z Force. I was so supposed to be getting a certified like new Moto Z Force yesterday, but of course it wasn't delivered. So it will be at least a couple more days with the Pure. I just have to remember to never be far from a charger.

Good luck with your MXPE until your Z Force arrives. I loved the MXPE, but it got to the point that I needed to be near a charger every 2 hours, so it had to be replaced.

The battery deterioration and the camera are really the only 2 things bad about the MXPE. I like everything else about it.

I love my MXPE and was ready to finally part ways for the upcoming X5 until Lenovo killed the model. I decided to replace the battery and I am very happy with the results. Battery life has been fantastic so far. I'm still carrying the extra charging packs but so far, it hasn't been needed. Definitely a worthwhile option until the new lineup rolls out. If you pursue this option, make sure you get the original Moto battery, not the clone. The Moto pack is curved as the original and has the Moto logo on it.

Only problem with this is getting a good battery is hit and miss... all "OEM" ones are about 3 years old, and aftermarket ones are questionable at best. Not to say you can't get a good one, just hard to tell when you order it if it's good or not. The real problem will be longevity, I hope yours lasts but a lot of people in the forums are not seeing replacement batteries last much beyond 6 months.

Some statistics with the replacement battery..
