I had the original razr maxx and loved it. I went to the note 2 back in january. I love the note 2, but ive always liked motorola.. with the moto x and the new droid maxx coming out im leaning back towards one of those two. The maxx of course having an even bigger battery is a big point, as I have been spoiled to phones that last all day and half the night. (My note 2's battery actually does great)
The problem I have now is if the droid maxx has most of the same features as the moto x, or if the new tech in the moto x actually makes the battery last all day.
Choices choices! Either way I hope motorola does well with the new phones! I just cant decide which of the two I want!

Yeah, and I dont really have user experiance withe s4 or the one. I have to go by what im used to, which is the razr maxx and my note2, both of which do great.
I have a feeling whichever one I decide I will kind of want the other one too! Shame there isnt a moto x maxx lol

Thanks for posting the review, very good. Ive gotten over the arguments about the phones cores, moto just took a different approach.. I hope it works for them

In the end its all about battery life. If your phone battery dies you can't use the phone for anything. That's the only reason I don't plan to get the S4 even though I prefer Samsung devices. I'm leaning towards then Droid Maxx because I want a smaller device but it must last all day with no questions asked.

I'm in the same boat. I have the Note 2 but would like something smaller and am up for an upgrade now. I loved the Note 2 at first but after 6 months the size is wearing on me.

I am thinking I will get the Maxx. I want something easier to use with one hand, has great battery life, but also has a great display. I need 32gb (on Verizon) so that rules out the x for now.

I wish reviews were out for the maxx. That would make the decision easier.

Im on Verizon, I have a whike to go before an upgrade, so ill have to save up n hope I find a go9d machine at the casino I guess lol. Im kind of the same way with my note2.. I love it and inlove the size.. but its size is starting to wear on me a bit. I still love getting ribbed about carrying a tablet for a phone tho lol

Im leaning towards the Maxx as well. Have a Rezound now, and I'm not interested in the HTC One, tired of Sense. Considering the S4 because I do have a Note 10.1 and love the multi screen aspect of it, though I'm not sure it will beas good on a small screen.

Excited to try the maxx live. A few good videos on Youtube, but really need to play with it.
As many have pointed out, for me some of the points and against each.
S4...
Pro: removable micro sd, removable battery, 1080p, multi screen, quick access settings (only pro to touchwiz?)
Cons: Laggy ui, touchwiz (prefer nova even on both Rezound and 10.1), battery life, build

Maxx
Pro: Battery, wireless charging, ui (specifically the always on gn), build
Cons: 720p, no sd slot, possibly the fact that battery isn't removable...but maybe with the 3300...that is just not a factor anymore.

Thoughts?

The Droid Maxx actually has a 3500 mah battery. The old Maxx phones had a 3300. A removable battery is completely unnecessary with a battery that size. The lack of SD at first bothered me but at this point I don't care.

Personally I'm not concerned about the 720p screen, as compared to 1080p screens. My eyes can't tell that much difference, and the savings in battery life are more important to me.

I'd like to see how it feels in the hand. Coming from the Note 2 I'd like it to be something I can comfortably use with one hand.

Compared to my Rezound...I'm ecstatic about either, but 3500 is awesome!

You should be. I was getting somewhere around 6 hours of screen time on 4G with the original Maxx and still had 30% battery. The HD Maxx was even better. And this should be even better then that.

// Battery life varies in the type of usage. Screen time will vary based on other things. Still love the idea of all day battery with no worries.

Well, even with the technology, the 2 phones are still rated by Moto as I think 28 and 48h battery life. So the technology can't compete with the much larger battery.

That's a sweet deal for the Maxx. Only thing giving me pause is giving up my unlimited data, but with my corp discount going to a 5gb plan would only add about $12 a month to my bill and I might be able to get by with just 2Gb since I only go over that once and a while. Very tempted to grab this deal.

Has anybody pre-ordered from wirefly before? Do you get the phone on release day like when ordering from Verizon or is their a delay?
