How do you get rid of the update notification?

So, I just got my Maxx today. It came with 4.2 and it downloaded 4.4, but I haven't installed it...don't want to. I rooted my phone and want to keep it. So, is there a way to stop getting the reminder other than keep setting the reminder out as far as it will let me?

Thanks!

I think that's the camera update. ( can't remember right now) What does it say under your settings - about phone ?

You may want to look around on XDA. I'm pretty sure that there is a way to keep root when upgrading to 4.4 (as long as you start with root on 4.2.2). But I imagine we'll see 4.4.2 in the near future and who knows what that will do to root.

There is currently no way to root from stock 4.4.

The maxxs received two updates, are you on 4.2.2?

The phone has only had 4.2.2 and 4.4, so that doesn't mean much. The phone shipped with, and the first two OTAs were 4.2.2.

Mine wants to update to 12.15.15.en.US...is this 4.4 or 4.3?

That's 4.2.2. Version 12.15.15 was the "camera update" OTA from November. (The phone was first delivered with a version I never saw, because it received an instant OTA that brought it to 12.7.7.)

If you're rooted you can flash a custom ROM and the updates will stop.

As far as I know, there are no custom ROMs for the Droid Maxx right now.

Mustang, I'm seeing that there are two updates that came out before the KK update. I can install these without losing root, right?

I got my phone in early January, it installed 12.15.15 which is 4.2.2 and rootable. Do not install 19.5.3 this is 4.4 kitkat.

Ok...if I install this, do I need to do something to save root or will it remain there...do you know?
