Turning off the "Approach" Moto Action as well as the attentive display seems to have made all of the difference in the world for me. Also disable the always listening voice commands. Still have Moto Display activated for the notifications, and all seems good now. I'm getting 36-40 hours pretty consistently.

Thanks and no problem. The first is the display state triggers. The second is what happens when the display shuts off. Then I have it also set up to reverse the first set of actions and connect when the screen is activated. I just dont like the background stuff running if I am not using it. Post yours so I can compare please. I am actually new to Tasker and have a lot to learn I am sure.

I just have it set up when not on wi-fi, screen off and on same mobile data triggers as you. As well as when connected to wifi, always mobile data off. Any reason why my held awake time is so high? I turned a ton of settings off, no syncing, apps dont auto update etc. turned wifi off in deep sleep. location services off. Attentive Display as well. Lower left side of the Gsam screen. Looks like a vacuum, app sucker. Check there and see. Maybe theres an app running when you dont know that it is. There is also a thread in here somewhere that lists apps that can be disabled. That helps alot too. Hope this helps a bit.

Battery life has completely settled in. I'm ready to say that the battery on this phone is superior to the Maxx.

My wakelocks look the same except the third one down which is related to your wireless signal. I dont use wireless very much really. Charge to 100 tonight then unplug and leave it alone. Then check the wakelocks in the am and see what it is then.

But those are some of the more helpful features on the phone. The idea that we should have to turn them off to get good battery life kinda sucks. I'd picture this being the battery life I'd get with the G3, which seems like a great phone. Only reason I returned the G2 last year was because I was drawn to the big battery of the Maxx.

Actually, I found the "approach" quite useless, and am embarrassed to use the "Voice" feature anytime there are other people around. Turning those two things I don't really use off went a long way on extending the already good battery life.

I like having the active notifications come on without me having to touch the phone or wait for it to breath. On my Maxx I never knew if I was between breaths and would always have to nudge the phone just to be sure. I don't entirely disagree on the always listening. I don't really use it around other people unless I'm sort of making a point to use it to show them. I'll use it at home sometimes though.

Active display/Approach is must have for me, especially coming from a BlackBerry with the power on gesture, having to press a button to turn on my phone is antiquated :D
