2 questions about my new Droid X

First of all I must say I love this phone! I had been a BB user for the past 3 years and finally made the switch to the Droid. My original Droid would show the smiley face animation in the text screen. My Droid X does not do this. Is there any option that I'm missing? My 2nd question is there a way to change the layout while viewing an SMS? I don't really care for the "speech balloon" effect since it makes me hit "back" twice to exit instead of just once.

I did a search for these questions and could not come up with anything. Thanks in advance!

I also would like to know how to get rid of the chat bubbles in the SMS. I haven't found an option to fix it yet either.

One option would be to install the highly customizable Handcent SMS app.
