mobile Hot spot and rooting

I just read that if you are rooted you can turn on the mobile hot spot feature.
Anyjuan here know how to do that without having to pay Verizon?

Root your phone with Z4 root. Then in the market, find wifi tether for rooted device. Download that and use that program. Then you can wifi tether without going through VZW.
But becareful, if you overuse it, you might get charged.

I find that Wireless Tether gets flaky on the X after 30 or more minutes. Connection becomes intermittent, phone becomes unstable and often crashes.
Works great for intermittent use, but for prolonged use you may try Barnacle Wifi. The main difference between the two is Wireless Tether uses infrastructure mode like a real wifi router. Barnacle uses AdHoc. Most devices are compatible with both some don't like AdHoc.
