Why wont my contacts sync with Verizon cloud

Hello, I received a Nexus 6p and I cannot seem to restore my contacts from Verizon Cloud. Even when I add contacts the app cannot back them up. Has any one else had this issue? Thank you.

Because the phone is not certified with Verizon most of their apps will not function properly with the 6p

Just a note: Never sync contacts with your carrier or OEM like samsung, HTC etc.

Always sync it with google. Its one service which will work with any devices, even iphone

I've never been able to sync Verizon cloud contacts with anything. Ditched Verizon, use google contacts instead.

I took the advice of the other posters and decided to use Google contacts instead. It was easy to export from Verizon Cloud and import into Google contacts. I have some duplicates that I have to merge (and it will be easy to do), but after screwing around with Verizon Cloud for several days I finally have my contacts back!
