Emergency alerts help

I got an emergency alert tonight. Somehow it got lost before I could read it. Now I'm getting this loud reminder every few minutes telling me to view unread alerts or cancel this notification. I can't see where to view the unread alert.

I went into Messenger, Settings, Emergency alerts and cancelled them all. I'm still getting this loud, annoying alert! It's driving me nuts and I don't want to hear it all night. How do I shut this thing up once and for all?

Using ZTE ZMAX PRO with Marshmallow.

Is there a notification icon for the emergency alert? If so, swipe down the notification panel and tap it.

Tried that. Did nothing. However, I needed some peace and quiet so turned my phone off. After about an hour, I turned it back on and notice with annoying alert was gone.
