How to search a location and use turn by turn navigation in Google offline maps

I am looking foward to use google offline maps for my navigation purposes. I have saved desired portion of maps to use without wifi (on the go). However, I am unable to use search and navigation functions on offline maps. I have tried to find solution on maps help and google in general but I couldn't find any. So I am initiating a thread to find the solution.

Here are the screenshots of offline google maps from my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 ed):

But, when I click on search bar it gives me an error shown in the screenshot below:

Also, I do not find settings to enable search and turn by turn navigation function in offline mode

I haven't used it in offline mode, but I believe it's only meant to provide basic map functionality. Searching and navigating (getting addresses and directions) is still handled by Google's servers which you need a data connection for.

It's probably worth getting an actual offline navigation app (or standalone device) if you require a full blown offline GPS experience.

Yup, Offline Navigation is NOT available on Google Maps or Google Navigation. You should be able to search for a specific location and get turn-by-turn directions, however. It's just Voice-guided Navigation that won't work.
