Lack of traffic here a harbinger N10 sales?

Other than some apparent media shilling, general comments seem to range more of indifference and negativity towards the new N10 devices. Previous Notes had far more traffic at AC.

Also wondering if Samsung is BSing S10 sales numbers with what's sitting in channels, verses what has actually sold through to consumers. I can't find one retailer I've visited in the US or England that touts great S10 sales. Typical response has been "less than expected", or "underwhelming".

Hopefully the 11 series gets rid of the notch and brings back the jack. Getting rid of the reflective and distorted curved edges would be nice too.

First time since the 5 series I'm skipping. Note 9 rocks overall.

I personally think the price of phones is the culprit to low sales. They are just getting to expensive to upgrade yearly IMO, for most.

If anything, I'll probably go with the note 10 pro and stay put for a couple years.

I don't even know if it's the price. I mean really, phones just don't need to be upgraded every year. If they cost less, then maybe they would because they wouldn't be as high of quality.

If it wasn't for Jump On Demand, I wouldn't be upgrading nearly as much as I do. The tech only gets better. The phones only get nicer. Price is by far the biggest culprit, but yes, there's something to be said for not needing to upgrade so often. But on another level, there really isn't a need for any of these flagship level phones. We want them, we don't need them.

I don't have JOD, but if I pay half off or more, I can upgrade without penalty. So I do. I don't want to be bothered with selling and t-mobile never gives enough for a trade in.

I'll probably get the Note 10 because of all that. But I might wait again, depending on tmobile since last year was a disaster.

You guys have to remember we in this forum are a very small number of the phones sold, we buy more often. The general population do not and at these prices, they will slow down buying phones. Most everyone I know, they buy every couple years or more and at these higher prices they are leaning to longer. I think the average user, they found the it's to expensive price mark. Sales being down is showing proof of that.

Yep, but statistically the amount of traffic can reasonably be used to make an educated but anecdotal estimate on interest compared to previous device rollouts.

I agree.

Smartphones are getting way too expensive. The iPhpne XS Max retails for $1550 from my carrier. That's almost two months rent for me. Insanity. That makes the iPhone X's price look like a toy phone from Toys R Us.

One reason why I'm getting the S10e - other than the smaller size, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, flat screen, aesthetics, and camera - is because of the lower price point (which is still $1000+ - still crazy). It's rough to have a smartphone these days - you gotta fork over a ton of cash!

Where do you live that that's almost two months rent? Can't get a 1 bedroom place where I am for $1,550!

I was lucky! We rented our apartment a few years back... But with housing the way it is now in Canada, if we had just found the place we're in now, they'd sell it to new tenants for at least $1000+/month. We're on the "old rent" so to speak because they can't raise the rent that high in Canada to current tenants. Something like that.

*Moves to Canada*

Having read some about the changes that they made, I can confidently say that I will be staying with my Note 9 at least until the Note 11 comes out.

I have not been a fan of the S10 series, but the Note 10 is actually a greater disappointment.

I have the S10+ and I'm way more happy with it then the note 9. I'm debating on the note 10 pro, not sure what I'm going to do there,I have a feeling the price will make that decision easier.

If you're referring to the no aux jack rumored to be gone, if that's true I doubt it's going to come back soon if ever.

The jack is one of the areas that the Note 10 is expanding upon the negatives of the S10 series.

No iris scanner, led notification, jack, or microsd. Gimmicky power share feature, smaller battery on some devices, and changing the fps to a more uncomfortable position.

Aside from the internal improvements, I would have to describe the entire 10 line as a downgrade.

I like the FPS on the S10+. That's probably why I like it better then the note 9. No matter what they do, not everyone will be happy. I remember when they moved the FPS to the back, that started world war 3, now everyone likes it. The future of under screen FPS, still undetermined.

Do people move around that much that they still rent?

I will just say, as an S10 owner, PowerShare has proved to be immensely useful. I just got back from a vacation on the Mediterranean and saved an iPhone XS user's dying device a few times. Left my Gear S3 charger back in the US and just used my phone to charge that. Charged my Galaxy Buds with it as well.

We also went to a soccer game in which security didn't allow power banks. Once again, saved the iPhone user with PowerShare.
