Google forcing itself as default web homepage

every time I open the default browser on my note 3 it takes me to the google homepage. I set my default home page to something else but google overrides it and forces me to go to their page instead. is there some setting to stop this from happening? I already downloaded Dolphin browser because google forcing itself on me ticked me off. whats the point of having a setting where you can set your favorite website as you browser home page if google is going to override it?

This doesn't sound right... They don't force people to them. Have you tried clearing cache on the app?
