What is APP Lock?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note III. Tonight a new icon appeared on my home screen. It looked like the Android icon in the middle of a lock. It's supposed to be some sort if app locker. The problem is that I never downloaded it. I have no idea where it came from. It doesn't show in my app drawer or process list. It's not in my downloads list or files. It's not in the play store. I did an image search and found nothing. Is this something new from Android or Samsung? If so, why us it not in the "Tools" folder or something? I have no way of uninstalling it. It uses a lot of battery, I don't want it, but there seems to be no way to get rid if it. I can remove the icon from my home screen, but that won't stop it from running. Is it malware? Malware Bytes didn't detect anything. Please help! Thank you!

I've done that. I'm trying to not reset my phone. Is it possible it's a new Android or Samsung thing?
