    Hi all.

    I've signed up recently but I've been following this forum for a long time.

    So I got a new note 4 and planning on buying a microSD card for mainly my music.

    My question is;

    Can the phone record HD videos to microSD cards? If it can, what should be the lowest possible write speed for the sd?

    Also I read somewhere that Sandisk SDs cause lag on the device and that i should buy a samsung SD card. Is this true?

    Also from experience, can you suggest any microSD brand/model? 32gb will suffice but 64 is also an option for me.

    Thanks.

    Good day all!

    I just bought the Samsung EVO 64GB micro sdxc card, but I'm new to both Android and sd cards, so I can't really provide any advice. Haha.

    I just got the Samsung 64GB Evo Micro SDXC version.

    Here's the result using A1 SD Bench app:

    The write speed is almost double than my Scandisk Ultra:

    I had a 32GB card somewhere, waiting for my new phone, but I just can't find it anywhere. It's still in the package from last Black Friday.

    Anyway, this year, I am going to wait for a deal on 64GB cards. My guess is that they'll be about $20. And, I can wait a couple of weeks for that.

    Remove back cover. Slide sd card in sd card slot. Replace back cover.

    When you install a sd card you will have the option to select the sd card as the default storage for images and video shot with the camera. The only exception is when using burst mode to capture images, they will store to internal memory. I agree with the others, the Samsung EVO is a very good sd card, I'm using one now.

    I'm currently using a PNY 64gig SD card. I'm not an expert in these things but it's been doing just fine for what I use it for, storing music, movies and game roms. I've yet to try recording HD video to it but if I had to guess it will do fine. I'll report back when I try.
