Are People noticing higher Data Usage with the Note 4?

I never come close to 500mb a month & now I am at 1.6gb & 9 days left & a replacement Note 4 on Monday . Was sure I setup & turned on WiFi at the gitgo Had prblems with SD card & reset, but it still should have gone that far!

Look in the settings for data usage then you'll find out how much data and what apps are using the most data. Your note 4 should have an option to limit data usage. Click on the apps that your using and click restrict back ground data. I'm only at about 200 mb in a week.

As on my wife's and daughter S5. It might be caller ID. It will sometimes make data and wifi run at the same time. It had nothing to do with VOLTE. When I am in my home, work, church. My family use the wifi. The most data we use is 4GB in a month. We watch a lot of videos and listen to music on all 4 phones. Driving to work I use Google play Music using data. Upload videos on WiFi only.

As dpham said I don't see anything out of the ordinary for me either. My data total reflects my usage since I got the phone on October 13th.

Glad I still have unlimited data, mine has doubled since 16 Oct when I got my 4.

For the first time ever, I didn't get through a month with my normal data plan and upgraded.

I figured this was because with all the "setup the new phone stuff" I wound up experimenting more and downloading more frequently when off wi-fi. I have also been considering whether I am just plain using more with the Note 4, but the next month will give me a better picture of that. I'm using the same apps. I can't see why offhand it would automatically be more of a data hog. If some default has been restored that I'd turned off before, the simple answer is to find out what and turn it off again.

But in terms of "new setup," the second highest usage was Google Play store--45 megs. That would seem logical. The highest was "Android Core Apps" at 112 megs.

Note: Flipboard used a mere 17 megs of data. It is not the main or sole reason I went from a typical 700-800 megs in a month to what would've been about 1.3gb (had I let it complete the cycle, which still has a week or so left). Facebook was next at 16 megs. Nothing else was over 10.

At the moment, not convinced it is anything but a 1st month aberration, but we'll see how the next month goes. Although next month has some travel planned, and that always uses more data.

I'll also be eager to see what happens after I cycle on Nov 8th. I am pretty sure I downloaded all my Note 3 apps before I turned on WiFi. Everyone seeing a lot of usage should see what it was on the prior device for this cycle and then for the first few days on the new device. I just expect in my own case it'll be the loading up of the new device. I am on a 2gb plan and I had probably 1.5 of audio books to re-download.
