Note 3 to Note 4 - conversion - is there an easy way

I will be getting a Note 4 this time around and I currently have a Note 3.

I have adjusted settings, add things to S-Note, Action Memo and such. Is there a convenient way that I can transfer these files to the new Note 4 or do, I have to do them manually?

You could connect both phones to a computer at the same time, then copy files over faster. But don't use a USB hub - they usually stop after a few hundred MB of transfer.

Or use Kies to back up the 3, then use it to sync to the 4. (Settings won't transfer. Some things aren't in normal, transferable files, they're in system databases.)

If you have your notes synced with your Samsung account they will sync when you log in to your account on the new device.

Smart Switch transferred most but not all of my stuff. It even got my saved Wifi spots and passwords, which impressed me.

Yes all of the wifi info was worth it in itself.
