How can I retrieve or reset my password on Samsung Note 5?

Try Android Device Manager from a PC or laptop.

It should ask for a password that you selected when you setup your fingerprint. If you're using Swiftkey I had issues because I had a symbol in my password but switching to the stock keyboard worked.
