Mainly, but the N7 takes better low light pics. Noticeably so and reviews concur.

Nice. N7 Killed it for the most part. Apple needs to work on that software.

The S7 will hang with any camera released this year. This is one area where Samsung kills it every year.

Most of those pictures the iphone had better realistic color. I have seen many samples of pics comparing them and usually the iPhone had the better pics.

I liked both pictures almost equally. And this from a phone 6 months older than the highly touted iPhone 7.

The S7 camera is very good. I've taken many very good shots but for the S8 they have to up resolution. 12mp is really not good enough anymore. At least 16 is needed, preferably 20 for cropping without loss of resolution.

An optical zoom would be nice and surely will come at some stage but it will inevitably impact on aperture. I'd rather have more resolution.

Well they are definitely trying to kill us this year, pretty much the end of Samsung mobiles for a few years anyway.

Wow. S7 held its own and produces a slightly more appealing photo in most instances.

Sorry but no. People will buy the phone they want, regardless. No one thinks it's going to happen to them.

Built up media hype, and not much more.

As time passes they soon forget. By the time the S8 comes out next March. All but forgotten except for the media reminding everyone.

The 7 Plus' camera isn't better. It simply has an additional (relatively bad, unstabilized) 56mm lens, but shares the same sensor.

I can't - I own the 7 Plus and find the camera to be underwhelming. Low light (and let's face it: a huge number of people predominantly use their cell phones to take pictures of the kids, their pets etc. inside the house) sucks and autofocus is slow. Why they'd stabilize the wide angle lens and refrain from doing so for the 56mm I don't get either. If one of the two lenses needs to be stabilized, it's the tele. At 24 (ish) mm, the wide angle neither needs to be stabilized nor does it needs the 1.8 aperture. Unstabilized and at f2.8, the 56mm is pretty much unusable in low light.

maybe ONE day, but can't see that occurring in my lifetime... If they did agree, what would they argue about? Trump vs Hillary for Pres? That point will be moot in 50 days..<shudder> lol

They had to leave something for next year. It is rather stupid to add in the 56mm lens and not to OS with it. Apple and their magic tricks.
    I'm still getting one though.
