On the Note 8 fourm one of the regulars started this same thread. It was very useful, some of the best tips and tricks that were discovered over time.

I found on the Note 8 and now the Note 9 that you can bypass the swip up to unlock screen by long pressing the home button area while your phone is in AOD or the screen is blank but the phone isn't locked. (I hope this makes sense, I've included a screen shot to help)

Add a floating navigation panel. Works well if you find the device on the big side and helps with one handed operation.

Settings - Accessibility - Dexterity and interaction - Turn on Assistant menu. Tap on Assistant menu for more options.

You can force RTL(right to left) layout. Basically turning most things that sit on left side of phone to the right side of phone. Don't know if it was on my note8. Just noticed it on my note9. Go to settings>developer options>force RTL layout. Including some screenshot of developer options page and time, signal and battery percentage being switched around. It would some getting used for me tho lol. I'm so used to everything being on left side. Plus I don't want to redo my notification panel toggles since they move to when you do this setting. Just posted this for the ones that want to do this.

I like to restart my phone once a week. I don't recall this on Note 8 but you can go to:

Settings
General Management
Reset
Under Phone Management you can program phone to auto restart one day a week at a set time.

I know Samsung has been touting the new Spen Bluetooth features so this is probably not news. But the long press of the Spen button to open the camera and then use the button as a remote shutter release is really useful.

I seem to be the one normally looked to for photos at family gatherings. Being able to use this feature for group photos around the table at Thanksgiving or the tree at Christmas will be nice. Also just setting the phone/camera in a corner and snapping random pictures throughout the evening could produce interesting results.

That is so much like the floating toolbox icon of my galaxy S5. Cool.

Guys I have a question. I have yet to receive my Note 9 on preorder. But.....

Can you enable both fingerprint and iris scan, so that you can choose to unlock via either method?

I'm not interested in intelligent scan as I don't trust the 2D face scanner, but I would like to unlock via fingerprint or iris without having to pick just one.

I discovered online that you can change the default very high frame rate slow motion camera to a lower 240 frames per sec.
