Is my phone bricked?

Hello i have a galaxy s4 sgh-1337m (rogers). I dont have any backups of stock . it seems that it was rooted when i got it. anyways i can boot to TWRP. i have tried to flash CM 10.2 , cant get it to boot , just sits at the samsung galaxy s4 screen. what can i do to get my phone back up and running. i have 4.3 jellybean i believe

What you'll have to do is try a factory reset. See if that clears any issues and allows boot. If that doesn't work. You'll need to download Odin. Then get the factory software and flash it via Odin. That will fully wipe your device and start completely fresh. Head over to xda-developers and find the Rogers version of the S4 subforum. You should get all the info you need there.

before everything when to **** , i noticed I had a deodexed rom , it was the one i was restoring to. what is this? where could i find one?

I believe that is just a stock Rom. So that basically means you're rooted. But I could be wrong. I'm not sure if Rogers locks down their bootloaders but if not. Unlock it and flash whatever you want.

i dont have anything to recover to . i tried to flash cm 10.2 and it didnt work so im kind of stuck . when i went to exit it said my phone is not rooted and asked if i wanted to install superuser . i accepted but i cant get past the samsung screen. should I find a stock rooted rom , flash that then try and flash the cm?

I would just try and get Odin and get your device working first

do i need odin , or can i just put the file on my sd card and use twrp to flash?

You'll need Odin. It isn't a zip file to flash. What you're doing is loading the factory image back onto the device. You'll need Odin as that is the tool needed to get the job done. Sit tight and I'll look for an xda-developers link for you

Odin is strictly a PC application that will flash the factory image you need to download.

Just search to see if there is a tool that will unlock it. When it's locked down, it really limits the amount of development available to you and how much development can actually be done. I have Verizon. They lock down everything

Can't find what? The factory image? Odin? Odin isn't model specific. Only the factory images used with it

From what I believe. Your device is GSM. Rogers is found under the ATT subforum. Just check to see if the current ATT build will work for your device. Then you can download and flash that.

Remember to flash the file in the PDA slot when in Odin.
