Dropped phone in water, not charging now!

Don't ask me how but my phone fell in the shower when the water was a few inches deep. I took it out literally a second after it fell in, and I'm such an ***** but it was still on and working totally fine, so I just dried it off and kept using it for the rest of the day until it died. But then when I tried to charge it, it wouldn't charge, so I took it apart and put it in a bag of rice for about 15 hours and it's still not charging. You know when your phone dies and then you turn it back on and it almost starts but obviously it dies again because it has no juice? It did that a few times, but now it's not anymore probably because it's completely out of battery. I think it could still work fine, but it's just not charging. What do I do?

(Whoever came up with the bag of rice trick should be sentenced to life in a bag of rice - he's killed more phones than the number of men killed in World War 2.)
