SMS using Data/Wifi

I have noticed my text messages has been using data, could there be a reason why? No MMS. I also notice that if I am on Wifi gaming, and receive a simple sms message I get a lag spike. Ive never noticed this before.

Standard texts right? They shouldn't be using data -- only MMS does.. unless you're using something like Whatsapp. How do you see the data to know it is using data?

Also it shouldn't really cause a lag spike. Are you using the default app for messaging?

Yep just standard. Just looking at my data usage in settings and its showing 10mb. and default app for texting no 3rd party apps. Ill play a game like NHL online and once a message comes in it just lags for a breif second, I have to turn off my Wifi for it to stop.
