My Samsung Galaxy 5 headphones only work on one side. Should I get a new pair or can I fix this myself?

My Samsung Galaxy 5 headphones only work on one side.

I have tried other headphones and they work fine. I have only had them six months.

Welcome to Android Central! Are they the headphones that came with the phone, or ones you bought? It sounds like the wire or the plug of the headphones became faulty. Could be due to excessive bending/twisting (which can happen if you routinely wrap the cable tightly around the phone when you're not using it), or defective manufacturing.
