jack port not working after replacement

About 3 months ago I dove into a pool with my phone in my pocket(s6 edge). I replaced the charging port along with the jack port along with some other stuff. (bare in mind i bought the spare parts from ebay (advertised as new)) and everything worked perfectly. But now, I come to find out that the phone doesnt switch to headphones when I plug them in, however if I restart the phone with them plugged, it will pick them up, and then I if I want to use the speaker I need to unplug and restart again.
Now my question is; I this a hardware problem or software??? I avoided factory reset, but if it is last resort I'll try that too. Any suggestions?

Unfortunately, it's impossible to tell what other hardware failed due to the water damage. You'll probably need to get a new phone.
