I suppose it depends on how much stuff you put on your phone.

for 64GB I should be fine for what I use the phone for.

Unrelated...I have the phone but I have no idea where the micro SD goes.

It's my understanding the battery isn't removable so can't take the back off.

The SD card goes inserted next to the sim card. The tray is at the top of the device. Use the sim ejection little tool which is in the box

Yes, since a) I was already using one (200GB) and b) I keep all of my music there to save space on internal.

As for where it goes it's on the same tray as the SIM card in the top.

I use an SD card for music and photos/videos to keep the internal storage free for apps. I also have a SanDisk 200GB card.

Sort of related. For those using Smart Switch, does it also copy app/data from the SD card? Have always transferred manually but think I'll try the smart switch this time from my S7e.

I have the 256 gig Samsung card from the note 7. I got the bundle promotion so I'm probably gonna sell the card. I just wanted the headphones. I'm probably gonna sell the headphones that came with the phone and the B&O ones I got with my v20.

I will be using my 256 card I got from Samsung. I never thought I would use up 64 gb internal storage, but I somehow managed to do so on my note 5 so a SD card is needed for me.

So I'm really having issues trying to find this information anywhere. Is everyone buying or using the Samsung EVO+ Class 10 UHS-1 memory cards or can the S8 use the UHS-II cards?

I will. If I'm not selected for the $99 offer, then I'll get the 256GB card. That'll hold my entire music collection with almost 80GB of space left over for photos and such. I'll use the 64GB internal memory for apps.

I received my 64gb earlier this morning via FedEx and have NO sd card installed as of now. I ordered a 128gb sd card on Amazon and when it comes in, i'll switch all files to sd card how I usually run my phones to keep them lag free. I smart switched just pictures, video, and music over and only using about 22gb on the phone's storage right now...
