Wait till Bixby tracks your every geographic location and then sends you ads based on it and who knows who else will gain that information of where you go everyday.
Also all your internet activities are documented

The sad thing is that this is true whether you agree to the terms of service or not.

Sends you ads?

Hmm. I have never agreed to the terms of service for the Samsung Account. In fact, I deleted my Samsung Account online. There isn't really a way to do it from the phone. BUT, the phone assumed I still had the account and will from time to time ask me to sign in. Of course, signing in requires that I agree to the terms of service for Samsung Customized Interactive Services (ads), which I refuse to do. But, I still got what I assume were some ads (notifications) about Samsung apps that I should be using. Like "Samsung Connect can help you, blah blah" "Samsung Game thingie can do...whatever"

Are these the ads you mean? Because I got them even though I never agreed to the TOS for Samsung Customized Interactive Services and have deleted the Samsung account associated with my phone.

No I was just curious as to what you meant. I do have a Samsung Account but I haven't agreed to the Bixby terms since I don't plan to use Bixby .. therefore Bixby hasn't sent me anything at all in the form of ads or anything.

From what I can tell, Bixby has not sent me any ads, per se. After the last update it sent me notifications basically telling me I need to use Bixby. I cleared them and I haven't gotten another one. I don't plan to use Bixby. It's pretty useless as it is now and I don't see it ever becoming useful.

Ah. A simple notification would never bother me. I sleep like a rock so people could spam text me and it won't be waking me up haha :p.

Man you're lucky xD if my emergency contact call me in the night my phone makes an earthquake on my glass table, and since i sleep right next to it i jump out of my bed every single time no matter how hard i'm sleeping :p

Google does this already
Yes very much so, found out the other day that Google had tracked my every location and internet activity for years came across this by accident in maps settings, I do nothing to be concerned about its just the principle that they fell they can do this.

One example would be Google telling me how many times recorded daily, I used tap talk, used Samsung browser were I went, talk about being monitored by Big Brother.

I've got to admit that while I thought Bixby Voice would be underwhelming (especially given the info cards that were implemented back in April), I must say it's pretty good. True, it doesn't do everything Google Assistant does, e.g. a simple web search. But it also does things that Google Assistant doesn't. I can tell it to search for a specific contact or group name in WhatsApp, and send a message. I can tell it to open Twitter or Instagram and tweet/post the latest photo with a specific message in the text. These are things that neither Assistant nor Bixby's predecessor S-Voice can do. Heck, even my wife's iPhone can't do that with Siri!

It's not perfect, and yes the voice recognition is buggy. For example I hate the fact that when I say "period" it writes out the word p-e-r-i-o-d instead of inserting a . into the text. And yes, it's a mark of gross incompetence that Samsung has delayed the release of the final version of Bixby twice. We can all agree that Samsung's directors and managers are a bunch of hacks who didn't know how to run teams of data scientists and software developers. But the product that said scientists and developers produced isn't half bad. I understand why people here are angry at Bixby and are simply disabling it. However, I for one think it's OK, and is worth testing out more thoroughly.

Using Samsung's browser and bixby works just fine for web search just like Google Assistant does. Samsung's browser is better than Google chrome anyway..

Really? Joining a beta test makes me a beta tester? Why didn't anyone tell me?

Allow me to apologize to the universe for not liking something I was testing. If I had understood that I was testing Bixby, I would have declared everything is perfect.

In all seriousness, I thought the story was kind of funny. I am shutting Bixby down, though, because I have not found it useful, and managing the flaws is annoying.
I shut mine off untill Samsung gets it thru their head to stop forcing us to use Samsung messages to do voice text messaging. Apple does that crap and get called out on it, apparently Samsung thinks they can do it now. Bye bye Bixby.

Two nights ago, Bixby sent me a notification asking if I wanted to set my alarm for my usual wake-up time...one hour before I normally wake up. Last night it sent me a notification an hour after I went to sleep asking if I wanted to review my schedule for the next day.

Both of these woke me up. If Bixby must track when I sleep, why is it trying to talk to me when it thinks I am sleeping?

Package Disabler Activate!

It's still on beta mode right now. Did you check the options memu to turn it off?

I too have noticed Bixby's notifications but I haven't found them bothersome. I actually do not mind Bixby and the button itself - however since we're on the topic - one thing I do wish is for the Bixby button to deactivate during certain situations - like WHEN I'M TAKING A DAMNED PHOTO, VIDEO, ETC...... I've cut off more than a few video recordings because of accidentally pushing that button when holding my phone sideways...

Bixby is the definition of beta. If you like being a test subject that's cool. Really (sincerely) have no argument with that.

How did that map thing work out for Apple?

I typically don't notice notifications at night either. Either this was a coincidence (unlikely) or Samsung has had a team of sleep specialists hiding in my bedroom for years, carefully charting the times when I am most vulnerable to waking (highly likely).

Or they just can tell when the phone is used or not.

I bet your carrier could come very close to when you wake up and sleep :p.

I was joking about the timing of the notifications being just right to wake me up. Obviously my phone/watch/Google/Samsung know when I sleep. That was the whole point of one of the notifications. It asked me at 5 am if I wanted to set an alarm for 6 am, because that is when I normally get up. It literally woke me up an hour before I get up to ask it I wanted an alarm set to wake me up.

As I said, I mostly thought it was a funny story. I'm really not using Bixby because I just haven't found it useful. For me, the issue is that for 90% of what I do with my phone, talking to it doesn't make sense. The other 10% is scattered tasks that I doubt I could train myself to use Bixby for. Yes, it is cool to say "Open camera and take a slow motion video". But by the time I think of saying it, my fingers are already half way there.

Yeah I'm not using Bixby because I've been using Google Assistant and it knows me pretty well.. plus that interfaces with my Google Home speaker... and then if I ever get a non-samsung phone the Assistant will be there with all my things whereas Bixby would be stuck in Samsung only land. Hell I could even grab an iPhone and still have my Assistant.
