Why can I not connect my Tab 3 to my Laptop

I was able to connect to my laptop a few days ago but now it has stopped and I don't know why. I have tried to get a driver from the internet but still no joy.

You will need to install the drivers for your PC to see the device. You can get them here Technical Documentation | SAMSUNG Developers
Is the device showing up in Windows Device Manager?

No it isn't showing up in Windows Device Manager.

Somehow you have to get those drivers on your PC. What OS are you running on your PC? Win 8 and upwards should easily install them,. An alternative way is to download and install Samsung Smart Switch to your PC as this includes drivers. You may need to install as an administrator
