Just got my Gear Fit and it seems to be IP67 certified.

Have any of you experience of swimming or showering with Gear Fit? The Samsung Experience Store executive told me he had his Gear S fully working in sauna, but hadn't tried it in shower.

Awesome so far!

I wouldn't risk it. You CAN lightly shower it, but the screen will act weirdly with the water droplets. Swimming, in theory, wouldn't hurt the device if not submerged too deep (below 1m) and for more than 30 minutes... but water immersion is not the only factor here. Swimming strokes add pressure to the water trying to get in and chlorine from the swimming pool water might start affecting the plating over time, not to mention the strap.

The protection on this device is meant to be for accidental water sprays and immersions, not for shower/pool operation.

I took it to shower with me by accident, but noticed it after 5min.
Works well, but I guess I shouldn't go swimming with it.

'Accidental' immersion shouldn't affect it, but it's certainly not meant for continuous use underwater, like swimming. I've forgotten to take off my Moto360 a few times when taking a dip in the pool or jacuzzi, and it's still working (never mind the bad idea that is getting leather watchbands wet), but I wouldn't go swimming consciously with it.

I've left mine on while cleaning my fish tank, which is over 3' deep, and had it under water for a good 10 minutes before realizing I had forgotten take it off. Works fine.

Please tell me you rinsed it off after it was in your dirty fish tank :P

That's the only thing I hate about leather straps. You have to be extra careful with liquid stuff and since most of us humans sweat, that's some extra care that needs to be observed. Plastic straps you just rinse off and be done with it.

A couple days ago I got a gear fit for my wife and one for myself. We have since been kayaking with it, showing with it, and even swimming with it. In our 8 foot deep pool, I dove to the bottom and back several times with it on. My wife has taken it into the ocean in San Diego several times. Both still work without issues. The only problems we found are that when submerged in the water even a couple inches, the bluetooth signal is lost (phone is about 20 feet away from pool). This causes the screen to turn on letting you know the connection is lost. The screen then reacts to the water as if it were your finger and navigates the screen randomly. For this reason I turned the bluetooth off, however that means you don't get notifications. Everything else works like the time, stopwatch, step count, etc. FYI, the heart rate monitor doesn't work well when your wrist is wet.

Mine did not seem to like salt water. Was looking for shells on a FL Gulf Coast beach and would reach down into the water to pick shells up. Did this for a few hours - though the device was not constantly in the water (though it was often in the water). It worked fine for a while, but now doesn't react when I press the button. It only shows me the time when I raise my arm - and while it is showing the time, I can flip to the other screens (pedometer, notifications, settings, etc.) Just discovered that when the battery is completely drained and it gets recharged, I need to fiddle with it when it is plugged in; otherwise it seems to consider itself turned off right now as no amount of arm raising is turning the screen on.

I've only had mine since February 2016 and went to FL in May. Also about half of the silver along the edges has worn off.

I have swam with my gear fit twice now, actually, and it works fine. I dove with it as deep as about 10-12 feet with it as well.
