Friends s2 after ICS update crash

Well he got the text to upgrade and then the update told him to go and download it off the computer and manually install. After that it was never the same, calls dropped no text messages and ended up just crashing and no boot .

He is not rooted and swears he filled the directions.

He got a replacement but he still wants ICS



Please help

There are a couple of things to try. First verify that they have the correct USB drivers installed on the PC. Second, uninstall Samsung kies and then reinstall it. As long as the phone isn't rooted it should be pretty basic to upgrade using Samsung kies. There are other ways of loading the ICS OTA, but they will require a rooted phone and custom recovery.
