Lock screen display issue after 4.3 update

Hi all. Immensely enjoy my phone (went from S 4G to S4 in june), but one of the coolest little features seems to have disappeared after the update. I was hoping someone may have the answer, here. I've searched and wasn't quite sure of the right terms, I guess, because I couldn't find exactly to what I'm referring. It's not a big thing, but I enjoyed playing with it occasionally.

On the lock screen I used to be able to generate lock screen effects while in close proximity to but not actually touching the screen. Is there a setting that's been reset and/or changed in some way that I can restore to a previous setting or is this just gone?

You might be talking about Air view but I'm not 100% sure. What effects would you produce?

The stock lock screen effects (ripple, light) but without touching the screen. Not air view or any gesture commands.

I dunno why they changed it but you HAVE to have "Air View" turned on to see that effect now.

Settings> System> Air View
